How to Reset Wyze Cam V1/V2 and Pan [Complete Guide]

Wyze Cams bring innovation to the CCTV scene by providing cheap, mobile, and featureful CCTV cameras for small scale use. In addition to that, their mobile application adds a ton of functionality to already feature-rich camera footage. Sometimes you might need to reset your camera and it is actually a fairly easy process to reset Wyze Cam.

What Does Resetting Wyze Cam Do?

Resetting a Wyze cam isn’t really a tricky process and it is often recommended by their support as a troubleshooting measure. So the question must surely be on your mind, what exactly does a reset mean for your Wyze Cam V1/V2/Pan camera?. Well, for starters, it means that all the launch configurations/customizations and the Wifi settings that you set the camera up with will be deleted.

This haul-up of the camera’s settings can get rid of any misconfigurations with the system and rid you of any error message that you might be getting with the Wyze Camera. Make sure to follow the instructions below minutely to avoid any mishaps.

How to Reset Wyze Camera:

In this tutorial, we will teach you to reset the Wyze Cam V1 and the Wyze Cam V2 models from Wyze Cam. Both of these are actually pretty easy to reset so follow along with the tutorial for a complete reset. In the end, we will also provide instructions for resetting Wyze Cam Pan.

Reset Wyze Camera V1:

1. Access your camera physically and remove the SD card from it.
2. Don’t remove the power plug from the Wyze Cam V1.
3. Press and hold the “Setup” button on the back of the camera for at least 30 seconds.

   

4. Release the button once enough time has passed and after about a minute, the reset process should be completed.
5. Once the reset process is complete, the light on the back of the camera should change from a solid Yellow to a blinking light.
6. Now you can set up your camera from anew.

Reset Wyze Camera V2:

1. Remove the SD card from your Wyze Cam V2.
2. Make sure to keep the power plugged in during this.
3. Press and hold the “Setup” button at the back of the camera for at least 5 seconds.

   

4. Release the button once enough time has passed and after about a minute, the reset process should be completed.
5. Once the reset process is complete, the light on the back of the camera should change from a solid Yellow to a blinking light.
6. Now you can set up your camera from anew.

Reset Wyze Cam Pan:

1. Resetting Wyze Cam Pan is also identical to the other two models.
2. Take out the SD Card from the back of the camera and keep it plugged into power.
3. Press and hold the Setup button on the back of the camera for at least 30 seconds.

   

4. Wait for at least 1 minute and the light at the back of the camera should change from a solid to a blinking Yellow.
5. You will have to set up your camera again with the Wifi details and any customization instructions.

Factory Reset the Wyze Cam V1/V2/Pan:

1. Factory Resetting the Camera is also a somewhat similar process with just a minor change.
2. As always, make sure to remove the SD Card from the back of the camera and leave the power plugged in.
3. Press and hold the “Reset” button on the back of the camera for at least “5 Seconds”.
4. Wait for the light at the back of the camera to change from a solid to a blinking Yellow.
5. The Reset process should now be complete on the Wyze Cam V1/V2/Pan and you can start setting it up again.
