Reddit: Your Session has Expired [Completely Fixed]

Reddit is an American discussion website. It is also known as the “Front page of the internet”. Other people can vote or comment on your Reddit. Reddit is the fifth most popular website in the United States and thirteenth in the world. The error “Your session has expired on Reddit” has recently been reported by many users around the world. It prevents you to log in to your Reddit account. There may be many reasons behind it but there is nothing to worry about because it can be solved very easily in very little time. Follow the steps below to resolve this issue. The whole error message states “your session has expired. please refresh the page and try again“.

Solution 1: Check Internet Connection

If Your session has expired error appears on Reddit and it can appear on any browser such as Chrome, Microsoft Edge, etc., go through some basic steps to see if you can solve this error. Follow the steps below to do this.

  1. Check your local internet connection. Make sure your modem is powered on and is not disabled.
  2. Now check and make sure that your PC or mobile has a good signal strength of your local internet connection.
  3. Refresh the login page and try again. Check if this error appears again.

Solution 2: Log into the old Reddit

This error appears mostly when you try logging in to the new Reddit layout. Follow the steps below to log into the old layout.

  1. Click the search button in the taskbar. Type the name of your favorite web browser and open it.

  2. Locate the search bar and type the link:
    https://old.reddit.com/
  3. Fill the credentials and login to your  Reddit account.

Solution 3: Login using the Sidebar

Sometimes when you login using the main login screen, this error appears. Try to log in from the sidebar instead of using the main login screen. Follow the steps below to resolve this issue.

  1. Click the search button in the taskbar. Type the name of your favorite web browser and open it.

  2. Locate the search bar and type the address to the Reddit website.
  3. On the sidebar, click the Join button.

  4. Click the Login button.

  5. Fill the credentials and login to your Reddit account.

Solution 4: Clear your Browser’s cache and cookies

If you are still getting the session has expired error, try to resolve this issue by clearing the browser’s cache and cookies. To do this, follow the steps below.

  1. Open your favorite browser.
  2. Locate the symbol containing three dots, on the top right corner of the screen.

  3. A dropdown menu will appear when you click that symbol. Locate and click More Tools.

  4.  Now click Clear browsing data.

  5. A box will appear confirming what to delete. From the dropdown menu, select All time. Make sure you check all the boxes that ask you to delete the “Cookies and other site data” and “cached images and files“.

  6. Now click Clear Data and check if this error is removed.

Solution 5: Login from a private account

If the issue remains and still prevents you from login in, try to log in from a private account. Follow the steps below to do this.

  1. Open your favorite browser.
  2. Open the link: u/Deuce232.
  3. log in from here. The “Your session has expired” error message will most probably disappear.
